I want to reuse my old aquarium..can you help me set it up?

hey i have a 55 gallon aquarium in my basement that i had fish in a couple years ago...i set it up 4 hours ago and started the filter and heater. They are working fine... i have fish in a 25 gallon right now...and i want to put them into this 55 gallon..When should i put them in there?...how long should i let the water cycle. (days,hours?)..thanks..i hope my fish love this tank!
